Q.    What do you do for fun besides singing?

A.    I Garden, go on long hikes, cook gourmet, read, and once in a while, I even go white-water rafting/kayaking.

 

Q.    What is your favorite CD right now?

A.    I have dozens of favorites, but lately I have been listening to "Ella - First Lady of Jazz."

 

Q.    What book are you reading?

A.    From Sea to Shining Sea by Peter Marshall Jr.

 

Q.    What is your favorite book of all time?

A.    The Greatest Thing in the World by Henry Drummund

 

Q.    Why haven't you packed up and gone to NYC or LA to further your singing career?

A.    Because I don't want to have to compromise my style and beliefs.  Also, because I would have to give up the country.

 

Q.    If you are really a country girl, why do you sing jazz?

A.    I grew up listening to a variety of musical genres, and watching old movies (Singing in the Rain, High Society, etc.).  They were usually musicals.

 

Q.    How do jazz and gospel fit together?

A.    They both come from the heart, and both tell a story.  Also, they both have soul which has to be conveyed by the singer.

 

Q.    Why is your faith so important to you?

A.    My faith is my life and keeps me going when things get tough.
